Annie’s Baby Photos

When we first met Claire, I felt compelled to declare that she looks like me or Michael, or both of us. During the first few hours I couldn’t tell who she looked like, but I thought she was the cutest! My mom texted us some of my baby photos and we slowly started saying that she looks like me (although I think she is way cuter!). But like Michael’s dad says, she looks like Claire.

My mom had given me some of my baby clothes for my first pre-Claire Mother’s Day, and we decided that we would do a photo re-creation with Claire in my baby clothes from 35 years ago. About a week ago we put her in a yellow one-piece from my newborn wardrobe. It barely fit her! We did our best to hold her in the same positions from my original photos.

We came up with this tear-jerking collage for my mom’s birthday this past week. We still have a few outfits to try on and photos to re-create over the coming days, but we are off to a good start.

My mom also gave me some of my earliest baby photos, along with my baby book and some other baby clothes that she made. One of my longtime organization dreams has been to organize and digitize all the photos – like all of them!

We have photos from Michael’s childhood and mine, and I know there are plenty more lurking at our parents’ houses. My plan for years has been to scan all those old photos in and make them into photo books that we can enjoy.

Once we started taking about 20 to 50 photos a day of Claire, I knew I had to get my photo organization system under control if I ever wanted to be able to enjoy her photos without feeling crazy that there are 20 photos of the exact same pose. I also want to catch up on the old photos, so over the past few days I have started out with my baby photos.

I had a scanning marathon and made a photo book of the below photos for my parents so they could have a hard copy to enjoy too. I also wanted to share the scanned photos here for family and friends who might like to see. Enjoy!

This one is so Claire!

Also super Claire. I think it is the hands up – and the chipmunk look on the face.
